Zintec Steel

Zintec is the trade name for a form of treated mild steel that has been treated with a thin layer of zinc treatments such as, zinc coating that provides an extra level of protection to the mild steel, giving it a higher level of resistance.

One of zincs most important characteristics is its ability to protect steel against corrosion. The life and durability of steel are greatly improved when coated with zinc. Zintec is an inherently recyclable non-ferrous metal and the zinc coatings provide a continuous, impervious metallic barrier that does not allow moisture and oxygen to reach the steel.

When considering the cleanability of zintec steel compared with other materials such as wood and plastics, steel is virtually completely free of bacteriological retention. Natural bacteria and enzymes in untreated wood attack and destroy contaminants from biological sources causing rot and bacteria build up.
